Atiek Widayati is a researcher and a professional on Landscape Approach and Geospatial Sciences with 20+ years of working experience. Her main expertise ranges from landscape assessments including land use-land cover changes and analyses on drivers and consequences, to development of landscape management strategies, including developing intervention options and outcome-oriented participatory planning. Since 2005, she was involved and was leading teams in projects that addressed issues concerning livelihoods vs natural resource utilization, i.e. in forest-margin, peatlands and upland-watersheds in different areas in Indonesia. Prior to that, she had long experience working in the domains of GIS and Remote Sensing.

Her engagement with Tropenbos Indonesia is as a Researcher/Analyst on various studies such as HCV (High Conservation Values), Social Forestry and restoration, and as part of resource mobilization team.

Atiek got her PhD from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, United Kingdom. Prior to working with Tropenbos Indonesia, she worked as Spatial Analyst and Researcher at World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF).
